Viral dessert sausage roll recipe using Mars bars has left the internet divided

A viral dessert recipe for a Mars bar sausage Roll has left the internet divided – but a TikTok star has shared it step by step so you can try it and decide for yourself.

The amateur baker, who goes by the username @Scribblefix on TikTok, came up with the unconventional dessert recipe which she makes in a £10 sausage roll maker.

As the Daily Star reports, the recipe is simple and it only requires two ingredients – two pieces of frozen puff pastry and a Mars bar, or any other form of chocolate if you prefer.

But the controversial combination has left the internet divided, even if the finished product does look delicious in the video.

In the video, the baker cuts the pastry in half and places one at the bottom before adding the chocolates in the centre, before covering them with the remaining puff pastry.

When it’s cooked, the pastry turns golden brown with crispy edges, and the food lover breaks the dessert roll in half, showing the melted Mars oozing out like a fondue.

Her video left thousands of viewers drooling and many were inspired to try it out for themselves.

One said: “Honestly who would have thought that you should put chocolate instead of meat – life changed for the diabetes.”

Another user wrote: “I have had this machine for over six months, very dangerous but oh so yummy. Tonight I’m making chicken curry puffs.”

But one unlucky viewer commented: “I tried this and the chocolate didn’t melt and the pastry getting close to burning.”

“Right, where’s my mask, I’m off to Kmart now!” a fourth added.

While another simply commented: “Stop it!”

And another added: “Tell me you’re a burden on the healthcare system without telling me you’re a burden on the healthcare system.”
